Alden's K5 Graduation

Wednesday, June 6, 2018 Alden celebrated this 'Passagem Do K5' or kindergarten graduation. It was a beautiful, fun and unique ceremony all about the kids (even though a bunch of parents wanted more...but that is another story).

The ceremony began with each student introducing themselves, including their birthday, creating a timeline of the kindergartners. Most of the activities they did aligned with what they had learned in class. Their introduction was accompanied by five pictures; birth - 5 years old.

"I am Alden Joe Schrage, I was born the 20th, 2012. I am 6."

Once everyone was introduce and lined up, they sang "What I Am".

My favorite part of the ceremony was the next song. It was the "Time Machine". Students did their very best Robot Dance! I absolutely loved it! Alden took this VERY seriously.

The Time Machine Created By The Students.

Then came the Just Dance song "I'm Alive" by will.i.am. Another absolutely adorable performance. I did not realize that Alden had such amazing dance moves.

Students adorned their 'becas' and lined up to graduate.

Look at his cute decorated hat! He wants to be a policeman when he grows up.

This kid! This smile!

They walked in pairs up to the stage when their names were called. Then, each student signed their name into the school book. Yes, that says Alden will graduate in 2030!!

When everyone was done, they did an "I Promise" response and a poem was read. Then, they presented thank you gifts to their teachers. Alden presented to his English teacher, Mrs. Andrea.

They sang a Thank You song, threw their caps, and came to their parents with big smiles on their faces!!

Graduation began at 7:30p.m. This is typically the time that my boys are heading to shower, read and get ready for bed. The ceremony lasted about an hour. Then, it was time for the PARTY!!! Now, remember, we had the strike recently, which delayed the giving of finals. This means that many of the brothers and sisters attending the ceremony had a final the next morning.

We drove to the house of one of the families that hosted the party and we were blown away. It was a massive space! The house itself was 'normal' sized, but they had this entire entertaining space and have a lot of parties we were told! So the following pictures are not great. It was dark and we did not want to seem like the crazy Americans taking pictures.

This entire building is for entertaining. The house is to the left of this photo. Their were six cars parked in the port.

Walking around and up to the top portion of the building.

They had many areas, but this was the kiddos favorite. An entire soccer field with places for spectators to sit!

Pool and outside space.

Watching and eating.

Live music

Places for at least 100 people to sit.

Students presenting gifts to teachers.

Buffet

Look at those cute kiddos

Always willing to smile. Sitting and game room in the background.

The actual house.
It was a beautiful place with good food and good people. We arrived home around 11:30! Very tired family in the morning! But memories we will not forget!

Graduation ceremony: the actual was about an hour. Click HERE to watch a condensed version.  Please consider watching...the ROBOT dance will make it worth your while!!!
