Campinas Exploration and a Children's Production

We spent the day exploring the city of Campinas. First, we went to a mall to purchase some clothing for the boys upcoming Christmas program. The mall was so festive!

While shopping, Alden saw these socks. While he does not know who Bart Simpson is, he could not stop laughing!

We went to lunch at a restaurant in the mall. Alden and Zane both tried a different drink. Alden was amazed by the ice cubes with holes in them.

This is his face when he realized how cold they were!

Zane, our growing boy, was very concerned that the kids menu burger would not fill him up. So we let him order from the regular menu. He ate the entire thing!!

We had some time before the show started, so we found a local park (Ecological Park Monsignore José Salim) to explore. This park was overrun with Capybaras! We have never seen so many! This is where we will have to take Josh when he comes back to visit!!!

The boys enjoyed exploring this park!

One of the Expats is part of an orchestra and invited people to see a presentation of Peter and the Wolf. We went to Pró Música.

The children each played parts of the music on the piano, acted out, or played another instrument. Even though the production was in Portuguese, the boys could understand what was happening and really enjoyed the show.

  2. Beautiful photos. Also, so funny about Bart Simpson and Alden! My friend once overheard a couple of younger folks (who clearly didn't know Bart Simpson), talking about the phrase "Don't have a cow" and not understanding it... "Why wouldn't I want to have a cow? A cow would be awesome" ... Lol :)
