Surprisingly, a LOT of people celebrate American Thanksgiving here in Brasil. Not in the remembrance way, but the tradition of the food and getting together with family and friends.
International schools, such as the one the boys attend, serve a Thanksgiving lunch. They invite families to join their children for lunch. Greg stopped by and we all were able to eat together. The boys were a little disappointed with the food. It was a bit different than we are used to.
That evening, we headed to the Expat Group for Thanksgiving dinner and a restaurant called Frutoteca in Campinas. An expat, who is also a chef, would be preparing and cooking the meal. The restaurant was allowing him the use of their kitchen. The original plan was appetizers at 18:00 and dinner at 19:00. However, the oven was much smaller than the chef was prepared for. Dinner was not served until 21:00 and the boys were very tired and cranky.
We enjoyed the scenery while we waited for our dinner.
Excited to get some juice!
Dinner time! Look at how pretty it looks!
The chef and his hard work! (These pictures were provided from some of the other Expats in attendance.)
I tried to take a photo of Alden's plate, but he was still on my lap so it came out a little blurry.

Zane enjoying some good food.
Overall, the food was delicious! My favorite part was the stuffing. It was unlike anything I have ever had. Crispy and soft at the same time! We were the first ones to head out, almost immediately after eating, as the boys had school the next day. The boys crashed within minutes!
