Zooparque
A peaceful drive of a little over an hour takes you to the city Itatiba. Within this city is a special zoo called Zooparque. This is a unique zoo because they attempted to make it without disturbing the natural beauty of the area. A 500 square meter area, located in part of the Atlantic Forest.
There is a 3km path that leads you around to see the different animals. It takes an average of two hours to walk through and enjoy all of the animals and learning experiences.
It was beautiful! Even though, as you can tell, it was a little cold this day!
The zoo offered different areas that represent different biomes found in Brazil; The Pantanal, The Amazon, The Atlantic Forest
The zoo has a large family of white rhinos and we loved watching them run and play! They were very active, kicking up dust and acting like children.
The natural plants in this area where a shock to Alden with all of their thorns!
Looking at the birds!
The rhinos running behind us! (Alden right before a sneeze!)
Can you tell which of our children loves to pose for photos!
At the end of the trail there exists a small zoo for children to get close to the animals. This baby goat had been born five days prior to us arriving.
Beautiful place, great for the kiddos. It tuckered them out!!
