Estancia 3 Irmãos

There is an Internations Group that Greg found and joined before moving to Brasil. It is a bunch of expats (those from another country living and working in a different country). These people support each other, offer advice, recommend places to go, host events and much more! Typically, the events are held on a Thursday evening at a bar or restaurant. We have not been able to attend many due to the boys bed times. The group recently has shown interest in hosting more family friendly events. This was the first of these events.

Located within the city limits of Valinhos, but much higher in the mountains, this large equestrian site had a beautify view of the land around it. We were treated to a tour of the barns, a show by some of the different aged riders, and the boys were able to ride some horses! There was a restaurant on site and we were able to purchase lunch as well. Now, they have been on rides before on vacations where the horses have followed the same path so many times they do not even need their guides. These horses we a lot different!

The arena was large and set up for a show, but the view behind it was spectacular!

The horses were kept in large stalls with nothing but a small chain or rope stopping them from exiting. Most were eager to check out who all was in the barn and loved the extra attention they were getting!

 Lunch over looking the arena.

This large fazenda (farm) had many, many different kinds of dogs on the property! This beast was sweet as pie! Alden was amazed that the dogs paw was so much bigger than his hand!

Barn spiders look a LOT different in Brasil than in Kansas. They move a LOT faster too. I had issues being under or near them. Even though the owner insisted that these spiders will let you pet them, I still could not be ok with them!

While waiting for the show to begin, the boys played and we enjoyed the scenery.

All the children were taught how to clean and brush the horses! Alden was not sure about this, but Zane could have kept it up for hours!

Waiting for the show to begin.

The children in the show ranged from age 6-18.

There were three Jack Russels  on the property!

Protection in preparation for riding!

Off they go!

The farm had sheep and chickens as well.

All in all, a successful day. Mingling with others that are in the same boat as us and entertaining the boys!
