Our first visitors

We are so excited to have visitors (though we know the cost of a trip here is $$$), but when we say all are welcome, we truly mean it!!

We haven't been here long enough to know the lay of the land, all the great spots, all the good food, but our first visitors were hopefully pleased with their visit!

Josh and Lisa flew arrived on a Sunday. The boys were very excited and made them some signs! Greg and Zane woke up early and drove to São Paulo to pick up our visitors.

They arrived with a suitcase full of goodies from my family! Birthday presents for Zane, clothes for Zane because he has grown, dryer sheets, soap, spices, electronics, etc. All things that we cannot find here or seem to be very expensive!

We were pretty laid back that day knowing that they would be tired from their long flight. We took them to lunch at a shopping mall and walked around for a bit.

We ended the night with some home cooked Brazilian Churasco (Pão de queijo, sausage with farofa, and picanha).

Monday, when I returned home from work, we went to a pastel restaurant close to our house and met a very tiny, and very hungry monkey.

Then we ventured out to a few different parks and even went to Campinas (a huge deal as I have only driven the short distance to work, Greg's work, a store, etc. Never in such a populated area!) after the boys were off of school. They were able to see a capybara and some other animals.

That night, we met some friends for dinner at a restaurant in Vinhedo that was new to us. They had a little bit of everything! Greg and I ordered a pizza and it was amazing! Josh and Lisa ordered the most fancy Sangria!

Tuesday, once again after work, we headed back to Campinas to the zoo and then had dinner at home (this time on the Traeger!!).

Wednesday morning, Josh and Lisa headed to Rio De Janero for a few days. The pictures they shared made us very excited to visit!

Friday morning, we boarded a plane out of Viracopas in Campinas to meet Josh and Lisa at the Cataratas do Iguaçu. There will be a separate post about this trip! So beautiful!!

We returned Sunday and spent the day being lazy. They left Monday to head back to the U.S. We all enjoyed their company and hope they had an enjoyable vacation!!
